Sewer

Overview-  After extensive site surveys inside an egg brick sewer using laser scanning techniques, the data allowed us to create cut sections along the sewer which were taken from point cloud data and then 3D modelled with an accuracy of 2mm. We discovered how badly the sewer had disformed; to assist our clients we recreated a perfectly formed egg shape to sit inside the existing with a 5mm tolerance at 1oclock and 6oclock. The information gave a very good visual representation for consideration for next steps in the rehabilitation of the sewer.

3D Print Process-  From the 3D model a 1:1 scale 3D print was created in sections that could be bolted together. The print was carried out using PLA.
